3D CAC Public Safety Meetings

Here’s Our Why:

3D CAC Public Safety Leaders Meetings are in-depth discussions with MPD, Public Safety Interested Community Members, Council Members, DC Agency Heads, and Business industry experts who provide insights and guide a collaborative, results-oriented dialogue focusing on creating real, actionable solutions for Our Community.

In our 3D CAC Advocacy and Social Justice and Public Safety efforts, we work towards promoting policies that promote equality, justice and public safety, and the well-being of all community members in Washington, DC. We advocate for social change, address systemic inequalities, and work towards creating a safer and more inclusive community for everyone.

3D CAC’S Public Safety practices and services helps to prevent violence by setting focused and strategic enforcement priorities, advocating for policies and supporting legislation, creating educational initiatives, fostering ongoing prevention strategies and effective deterrence methods, enforcement collaboration with law enforcement, and supporting legal efforts while measuring the results.

3D CAC is located in the 3rd Police District of Washington, DC and the Chair is charged with providing the 3rd District Commander with a Community Action Plan and recommendations from the community on the public’s safety problems and police service needs.

3D CAC hosts Regular Public Safety Leaders Meetings at the Third District MPD Police Station on the last Thursday of each month which allows  residents, DC Agencies, Elected Leaders and Business Owners  to meet and discuss police-related issues with the district commander. The meetings also provide an opportunity for police officials to assess the impact of their crime-fighting efforts on the community.

In addition to the 3D CAC Public Safety Leaders Meetings the 3D CAC Chair is on the Chief of Police’s Citizens Advisory Council and provides the Chief of Police with input and advice on matters affecting the entire Department.

3D CAC’s goal is to make our city a safer place for all us to live, work and visit.

3D CAC Public Safety Leaders Meeting  – Calling All Public Safety Leaders!

Greetings and Salutations Neighbors!

Join Us on Thursday, July 27th at 7:00 PM for Our Public Safety Leaders Community Meeting

Neighbors,

The month of July has been a vibrant month of patriotic celebrations, voting preparation for local and national campaigns, our 3D CAC students getting ready for their upcoming college endeavors, service awards and street dedications to our outstanding community leaders all are joyous occasions. I am pointing this out to highlight the illuminating light that we have here Washington, DC that expresses the social dignity of a community moving forward  and a spirit that uplifts our communities. Thank You for adding your service to all of the 3D CAC Public Safety efforts!

Gun Violence

We unfortunately have those who have an irrational disregard for humanity and choose to harm our neighborhoods. We are still in a dire need to change the public harm and experiences that gun violence is causing here in our city and across the nation. We have witnessed that each quadrant of our city is infected.

Having Our Community of babies, young people and seniors  – any of us – all human beings go through this trauma is disgusting. We need everyone to have the moral courage to speak out against gun violence and report the culprits causing harm. This gun violence is exploiting the peace, happiness and LIVES of all of our citizens, businesses and visitors and We Should ALL Band Together to Improve These Conditions. We Can Change to Transform from Harm to Good and Say ENOUGH is ENOUGH! and rally for the End of Gun Violence.

Public and Traffic Safety

The 3D CAC Community took action following our recent meetings and robust community input where we addressed the traffic safety incidents: reckless driving with drifting stunt shows of mopeds  ATVs along with the disturbing noise levels of the modified exhaust systems.

We raised our voices for Traffic and Public Safety by taking collective action:

  • On May 30, 2024 We sent out Our Message requesting immediate to change to the conditions of traffic and public safety.

  • On Thursday, July 11, 2024, We presented the 3D CAC Moped/ATV Written Testimony to Councilmember Charles Allen, Chairperson of the Committee on Transportation and the Environment, for the DC Council Public Oversight Roundtable.

  • Last month, MPD launched Operation Ride Right to crack down on unregistered scooters. MPD has impounded 273 scooters, arrested 81 drivers and issued 172 notices of infractions.
